Aux nouvelles : Asterix toujours sur les rails mais retardé un peu, en attendant j'ai fait un clip pour le dernier morceau de Louise Attaque, produit chez Eddy en 22 jours top chrono et avec l'aide précieuse d'Antoine Ettori, Matthieu Gaillard, Sebastien Roussel, Mathias Lachal, Davy Koskas ainsi que Ludo, Alice, et Thibault.

I've been working hard the last few months.. Developing an adaptation of a Asterix Comic's book for a potential 3D feature film I will direct with Alexandre Astier ( french comedy series director and actor ). A step in the process has been reached so now I have a bit more time for drawings and walks in Paris ( shining sun ! )
Pas mal pris ces derniers temps, j'ai developpé chez Mac Guff un test pour une adaptation 3D d'un album d'Asterix que je réaliserai avec Alexandre Astier ( Kaamelott)..Pour l'heure j'entame une période un peu plus calme , du coup je peux me remettre dar-dar au crayon...

vacations times are always suitable for sketchs drawings! here are a few....amongs them , the birth of Victor the Great, and a journey to Johannesbourg -South Africa.

vacances obliges, je peux me remettre un peu au carnet de croquis qui m'ont fait cruellement défaut depuis quelques mois.. En vrac : la naissance de Victor, le Lot et Garonne et Johannesbourg. Enfin 2 aquarelles...

La petite nouvelle est que je quitte Pixar dans quelques jours. Retour en France pour des projets plus perso, j'espère....
Sinon j'avais fait ce design pour un T-shirt Pixar, qu'on peut dorénavant acheter dans le boui-boui du studio.
The main news is I am leaving Pixar very soon, after 3 years of 3d animation here.
I forgot to mention I did also this little T-shirt design just after Wall-E. It's now in sell in the little shop in here.

Fenton is a famous creamery of Oakland. You might have seen it briefly in UP, the last Pixar movie I've worked on. I actually live nearby and this week-end was there 115 years . The area was crowded with people excited for free Ice-cream. I am not a big fan of there ice cream ( I'm rather a sorbet fan ), but the place worths it for the customers...
Fenton est un must pour les Americains qui aiment les glaces 98% de matière grasse. la maison mère fêtait ces 115 ans ce week-end, et comme on habite juste a côté, j'ai fait quelques dessins des gens qui fond la queue pour une glace gratuite.
La Crêmerie apparait d'ailleurs dans le dernier Pixar sur lequel j'ai bossé, UP ( La-Haut ).

Bastille day...

Salut...

I took a day off on July the 14th, not necessarily to support Bastille Day, but simply to enjoy being non-worker on a regular week day ( in USA, at least...) Below are a few drawings, from my walk on the Presidio in San Francisco. Beautiful place, unless the Fog runs everything. I was lucky that day.

Pas trop férié aux Etats-Unis, mon 14 juillet a quand même été chômé, grâce à mon petit "floating day" sorte de journée qu'on peut prendre en remplacement d'un jour ferié non observé par la boite. Sympa. J'en ai profité pour ne rien faire, me balader et dessiner , comme quand j'étais intermittant.
Du coup petits dessins sans prétentions du Presidio, vaste endroit de pelouse avec au Nord le Gloden Gate et la baie, au Sud , d'anciens camps militaires à moitié racheté par Lucas qui y a mis ses studios.

This Saturday I joined for a few hours "The 20th World Wide SketchCrawl"... lots of drawers sketching in the street, then share their notebook in a bar to see who did what.

Le week-end dernier, c'était festival pour les oreilles à l'orchestre symphonique de San Francisco :
- Dimanche après-midi oblige, la salle était remplie à 90% de vieux qui toussent ou qui ronflent.
- On testait pour la 1ère fois les places en "terrace", 30 dollars seulement (voir schéma), derrière ce terme accrocheur, se cache une accoustique merdique qui transforme un concerto pour piano en grosse fanfare inaudible (de fait, on est tout près des cuivres). Du coup Poulenc et Prokoviev, on n'a pas trouvé ça si chouette. Ceci dit, c'est un point de vue original pour les yeux : face au public et aux mimiques du chef d'orchestre, c'est comme si on y était.
Last Sunday, we went to a matinée concert at the San Francisco Symphony, to listen some good pieces of Prokoviev and Poulenc. Matinée concerts are cheaper, but the theater is stuffed with elderly coughing people. Bad experience, we tried for the 1st time seats in the "terrace" (see picture below). The sound there melts in a ununderstanding mess... what was supposed to be a concerto for Piano became a bad and noisy fanfare... Though, the spot is good for sketches.

Au moins, le truc drôle avec ces places, c'est qu'on voit des trucs que les autres ne voient pas. Genre le harpiste qui se met régulièrement des boules Quies, parce qu'il est complètement cerné par les Percussions et les Vents. Ça donnait à peu près ça:
At least we could see some weird things from this point of view, like this harpist who was surrended by the noise of the brass and percussion instruments. He was regularly putting his earplugs !
